WHO SHOULD APPLY AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Deadline: May 1, 2014

These scholarships are open to all incoming first, second, and third-year African American, Hispanic, Asian American, Native American and biracial AAJ Law Student Members.

Scholarships will be awarded to the applicants who best meet the criteria listed, but not limited to, below:

  • Exhibit an interest and proficiency of skills in trial advocacy
  • Express a desire to represent victims
  • Demonstrate a commitment to AAJ and dedication to its mission through involvement in an AAJ student chapter and Minority Caucus activities
  • Show a financial need for the scholarship

Applications must include the following:

  • A resumé
  • A 500-word essay on how you meet the criteria
  • Two recommendations from a faculty adviser, trial advocacy professor, dean, AAJ member, or trial lawyer (must be submitted with application)
  • A completed form verifying your student status. Download and print form.
  • Every applicant must be enrolled in an ABA accredited law school. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Up to six $1,000 tuition assistance scholarships will be awarded in the summer of 2014!
