Who Should Apply:
The 2014 Scholarship Committee of the Magic City Bar Association, Inc. (“MCBAâ€) is now accepting applications for its 2014 minority scholarship competition. This year marks a change in the scholarship competition. The MCBA will award two (2) $2,500.00 scholarships to the best submissions received among second year students and one (1) $2,500.00 bar preparation course scholarship to the best submission by a third year student. In addition, we will also offer one (1) $1,500.00 bar preparation scholarship to a third year student with next highest scoring submission.
Applicants must be at least a second-year minority law student enrolled in one of the five Alabama law schools and a member of the Magic City Bar Association. In addition, applicants must view a legal writing webinar prior to submitting their application. The webinar link will be provided to you via email next week. The application deadline is Friday, November 7, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. All applications and supporting documents must be received by that date. Thank you in advance for your support.
The scholarship winners will be honored at our Annual Scholarship Reception on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Harbert Center, 2019 4th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35203. The topic will be Social Engineering 2014 and Beyond. We hope you will plan to attend the banquet in support of your law school’s scholarship winner.
