WHO SHOULD APPLY
The Edwards Scholarship Fund was established in 1939 by Grace M. Edwards, a lifelong resident of Boston. The Fund seeks to further the development of good citizenship through education by offering scholarships to men and women of good character and ability who are in need of financial assistance. Recipients are asked to contribute to the Fund when their incomes allow. Grace Edwards’ legacy is helping educated citizens help others and your future contribution to the Fund will allow that legacy to live on.


The basic requirements to apply for a scholarship are:

You are a legal resident of Boston*
You will have graduated from high school or completed the GED by June of this calendar year
You maintain a high school Grade Point Average of 2.0
*The City of Boston includes the following areas in addition to the central areas of the city: Allston/Brighton, Back Bay, Bay Village/South Cove, Beacon Hill, Brighton, Charlestown, Chinatown/Leather District, Dorchester, Downtown/Financial District, East Boston, Fenway/Kenmore, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Mission Hill, North End, Roslindale, Roxbury, South Boston, South End, West End, West Roxbury.

Award:
Scholarships range between $250 and $5,000 and are granted for a period of one academic year but may be applied for in subsequent years. It is possible to receive this scholarship up to six times. Scholarships may be used at any accredited school or college leading to an associates, undergraduate or master's degree.  Undergraduate degree seekers take precedence.
