The SFLRLA Public Interest Bar Review Scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to law graduates who intend to pursue a career working with Bay Area community-based legal service providers to enhance the delivery of legal services to the Latino community. The Bay Area Latino Lawyers Fund awards this scholarship annually to graduates intending to work in areas where there is a substantial Latino population in need of legal services.
The scholarship committee will give priority to scholarship applicants whose post- graduation employment will meet at least one of the following objectives:
- a. Develop or expand legal services in the areas of housing, education, employment,
- b. Develop materials and training to educate the Latino community about its legal rights and to
- c. Provide training, referral, recruitment and mentoring to law students. discrimination, immigration and naturalization. facilitate its access to the justice system and the courts.
