Description

The Honors Partnership is open to all second year students (full- and part-time) who are in the top 20% of their class. Candidates must also be residents of Nassau, Suffolk, or Queens counties, have an interest in working on Long Island after law school, have community involvement and exhibit financial need.

The Honors Partnership provides a scholarship of up to $7,500 which is renewable provided the recipient meets the requirements for scholarship renewal as established by the Dean of the Law School. Currently, students must maintain a cumulative academic rank that places them in the top 40 percent (not rounded) of their entire graduating class (all full-time and part-time students with a common anticipated graduation date).

The Certilman Balin Honors Partnership allows second year student(s) to develop a unique relationship with Certilman Balin. The firm will:

• Sponsor a scholarship,

• Provide a mentor for the selected student(s),

• Include that student in various firm events,

• Provide opportunities for the student(s) to meet with its attorneys and observe them in practice.

The partnership may also extend to summer, part-time and/or permanent employment opportunities if the student and firm so choose.
